Serving clients across India — and internationally in UAE, Nepal, and Bangladesh
We formulate all lubricant oil products (engine oils API SN/SP/CF/CK-4, gear oils GL-4/GL-5, hydraulic oils HLP/HVLP, compressor oils, turbine oils, cutting fluids), all grease types (calcium, lithium, lithium complex, calcium-lithium complex, aluminium complex, red gel, silica, food-grade), and custom additive packages (ZDDP, PIBSI, OCP, ADPA, MoDTC, Ca/Mg sulfonates). We also cover specialty products including antifoaming agents, coolants, DEF, mold release agents, and bio-lubricants.
Do you work with companies outside India?
Yes. We have successfully delivered formulation and process consultancy projects for clients in the UAE, Nepal, and Bangladesh, in addition to our extensive work across India. All international projects are conducted under NDA, with formulations and documentation adapted to the relevant market's regulatory requirements. Remote consultation and documentation delivery works very effectively for international clients.
How is confidentiality handled?
Confidentiality is our highest priority. We sign a mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before any technical discussion takes place — covering formulations, process data, product performance, raw material sourcing, and any business information you share. All IP developed under your project is fully transferred to you on completion and is never shared with any other client or third party.
Who owns the formulations you develop?
You own 100% of every formulation, process SOP, test report, and technical document developed during your engagement. We sign an explicit IP ownership agreement before work begins. LubeChem Consultant retains no rights to reproduce, disclose, or use any formulation or process data developed for your project.
What is the difference between a single project and the Annual R&D Partnership?
A single project is a defined-scope engagement — e.g., develop one API SN engine oil formulation, or optimise your lithium grease saponification process. This is billed on a project basis. The Annual R&D Partnership is a fixed annual retainer that gives you unlimited formulation requests, continuous product testing, ongoing process optimisation, and all compliance support — all year, with no per-item billing. It is ideal for companies that have continuous R&D needs across multiple product types.
Can you help us set up a new lubricant or grease manufacturing plant?
Yes. We offer complete plant setup consultancy for both lubricant oil blending plants and grease manufacturing plants — covering layout design, equipment selection and specification, P&ID, process commissioning, SOP development, QC lab setup, and manpower training. We also supply pilot-scale saponification units in batch sizes of 200 kg, 350 kg, 420 kg, and 540 kg — ideal for startups and R&D operations.
How quickly can you develop a formulation?
Timeline depends on product complexity, required testing, and your specification targets. A standard lubricant oil formulation for a common API grade typically takes 3–6 weeks from brief to validated formulation with test data. Grease formulations, which require saponification optimisation and multiple trial batches, typically take 4–8 weeks. Complex additive package development or novel product types may take longer. We discuss realistic timelines in detail during the discovery call.
Do you help with product rework — improving existing formulations?
Yes, product rework and reformulation is one of our most in-demand services. We use FTIR, TBN, viscosity analysis, and elemental testing to reverse-engineer existing products and identify their weaknesses. We then redesign the formulation to improve performance, reduce cost, or meet new specification requirements — while maintaining compatibility with your existing manufacturing process and raw material supply chain.
